Pangolin is an online gallery connecting emerging and established Georgian artists with the global art marketplace.
We present small-scale, original works that privilege conceptual clarity over trend aesthetics and authorial voice over decorative appeal. Each piece is selected for its formal precision, material sensitivity, and intellectual grounding — whether through spatial tension, chromatic restraint, figural abstraction, or the quiet disruption of narrative structure.
Our curatorial focus centers on artists who operate as conscious observers of their time — practitioners whose work reflects cultural memory, contemporary fragility, identity, displacement, reconstruction, and the evolving language of form.
By situating Georgian contemporary art within an international context, Pangolin aims to bridge geographies without diluting distinctiveness. We position these works not as regional artifacts, but as active participants in global visual discourse.

Ketevan Popkhadze
Graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 2008, Faculty of Fine Arts and Theatre Stage Design, and completed a Master’s degree in Public Relations at the Georgian Institute of Public Relations in 2017. Her professional experience spans visual arts, media, fashion, and cultural communication. She was the special representative at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi, where she wrote the first-ever fashion reviews in Georgia and interviewed international industry leaders, including top-ranking artists and fashion managers. She also collaborated with the LVMH Moët Hennessy group, producing a short documentary filmed in France. Throughout her career, Popkhadze has actively supported and promoted emerging artists, fostering new creative voices and contributing to the development of Georgia’s contemporary cultural landscape. Her work bridges the worlds of art, fashion, and media, reflecting a commitment to international dialogue, cultural innovation, and the elevation of contemporary Georgian art.
Maka Bibilashvili
As a journalist, has been deeply engaged in Georgia’s cultural and artistic sphere during her career, building strong professional relationships within the contemporary art community and actively contributing to the visibility and development of Georgian artists. She has consistently focused on covering, supporting, and promoting exhibitions, creative projects, and emerging artistic voices — both locally and internationally.
She graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University in 2004 with a degree in Journalism, holding both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Television and Radio Journalism, and brings nearly two decades of professional experience in the media industry. Alongside her academic background, she has worked as a reporter, editor, and editor-in-chief for various Georgian and English-language informational and cultural publications. She currently serves as an editor at On.ge, one of Georgia’s leading online media platforms. As co-founder of Pangolin Gallery, Maka Bibilashvili brings her extensive cultural insight, professional network within the art community, and longstanding dedication to supporting artists into the gallery’s vision and strategic development.
Levan Tchkonia
Graduated from the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Engineering and Economics, and later pursued professional studies in tax legislation at the school of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia. Since 1996, Tchkonia has held technical and financial director positions in several privately held companies before joining the system of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia. Since 2010, he has served as Financial Director of Belux Georgia, one of the first luxury furniture houses in the country. At a time when the concept of curated luxury interiors was still new to Georgia, Belux introduced a distinct vision of refined living, establishing a culture of exclusivity, craftsmanship, and sophisticated design. In his role, Tchkonia has been closely involved in the selection and import of leading European luxury furniture brands, contributing to the development of a new aesthetic standard in the Georgian interior and design landscape. Alongside his work in the luxury design sector, Tchkonia has participated in a number of high-end construction and development projects in Georgia and has served as a financial and development advisor for investment and construction initiatives across several countries of the former Soviet region. His professional engagement with architecture, interiors, and design gradually evolved into a broader appreciation of visual culture. As a private collector of Georgian artists, he developed a lasting interest in contemporary art and cultural initiatives, an involvement that ultimately led him to engage in the art world and art business.
